This
venerable, professional office building in downtown Pittsburgh
needed a complete renovation to create an entry and lobby area
commensurate with the building's Tenants and their status in the
business community. Golba and Associates - Architecture understood
the challenges involved, including mechanical needs, ceiling height
concerns, and floor elevation changes. We transitioned these challenges
into a design solution that

incorporated
three "areas" - an entry, a passage and the elevator lobby.
Common design elements and materials unite these areas but also
serve to define and transition tenants and their clients as they
move through the lobby. Indirect lighting, dark wood finishes and
stone flooring establish a strong presence for the entrance into
the building. The Client and the building's Tenants obtained an
entrance commensurate with their business and professional status.
