Golba
and Associates - Architects' twelfth major project for this national
law firm was the expansion and complete renovation of their Houston
facility. Growing from one to two-plus floors resulted in complete
new reception and conference areas, as well as the insertion of
a staircase to connect these floors. Three types of limestone
flooring, cherry paneled walls, embossed frieze details, and textured
glass were used to create an updated interpretation of the traditional
law practice. Secretarial areas were custom-designed to

technology and allow for easy interchange with the attorneys and
staff. Lighting was integrated into furniture and built elements
to provide quality indirect lighting and establish a comfortable
work/light-level throughout these offices. Design elements established
in the main areas were extended into the office areas, providing
a quality work area for all personnel. The successful completion
of this project led to further expansion and opportunities for Golba
and Associates with the law firm in their other locations.
