Golba and Associates - Architecture was retained by this national law firm to complete the planning and design of an 18,000 square foot expansion floor, to be compatible with their existing five (5) floors of office space at this location. Key provisions of the contract required the design to be compatible with the existing floor's space design, but incorporating complete computerization of all work areas, a more logical, open floor layout, offices for 45 professionals, support staff areas, conference facilities, and an auxiliary central file room. The automation and support work area needs posed a unique challenge due to the need to analyze the existing secretarial station standards for acceptance of

modifications necessary to accommodate new computer equipment.Because of the density of occupants required, the planning minimized the effective length of hallways by the careful juxtaposition of solids and voids to define areas and draw people through the space. The final result was a new floor of legal offices that is the most densely populated of the entire firm, yet has the most open and rational floor design. Since its completion, the design elements established have become the firm's new standards for this location. Based on our successful completion of this project, Golba and Associates - Architecture was retained to renovate the five (5) existing floors and all ten (10) conference areas.
